Hi everyone. Been playing the ocarina for a couple of years now and have gathered quite the collection of ocarinas. there is still one missing though. the metal ocarina. Been browsing the web but i am unable to find anything regarding where I can buy one. I know metal ocarinas are rare but you gotta be able to buy it from somewhere, right?
Anyone have any info?

What sort of metal ocarina are you wanting? I know there are a few makers who produce metal pendant ocarinas.
In the late 19th Century there were some metal sweet potato ocarinas made, but I can't think of any modern-day maker of metal sweet potatoes. K. Dunster at http:///www.greenverdugo.com produces some that look like metal ocarinas, but are actually made of clay. These are sold through eBay.

Hi there Walden. I was thinking about a sweet potato ocarina if possible. I actually just want to try out the metal material and see the difference. I guess metal ocarinas are quite pricey though =)
do you have any web-addresses for metal ocarina makers?
Realy enjoy your forum by the way!

As Walden said, metal sweet potato ocs were made in the 1800s. There are however, several makers that make metal ocs nowadays. A seller on eBay (moriasilver) was selling brass pendants a few years ago. Mountain Ocarinas makes a nice-looking aluminum inline oc, (scroll down 2/3 of the page) LINK and Eliaz makes ocarinas of both silver and brass. LINK They are like jewelry.

I've seen a few metal sweet potatoes on eBay a couple times. they kind of disappear and reappear. but if you monitor eBay, you should be able to grab one.
