Hi, I had a four hole ocarina for a while. I loved the sound , but it got broken in a moving accident. I recieved a 10 hole one for a gift. The low range sounds fine, but as soon as I get past A it starts to sound very windy and I have to put an unusual amount of blowing effort in. to get up the scale. Is it a bad quality ocarina; or am I missing a technique that I didn't learn with the four hole one?

Every wind instrument takes some getting used to to make it sound right. But if it stays difficult and the high notes keep sounding bad it's probably poor designing, this happens quite often with cheap ocarinas
